Città d’Acqua – Our Kennel Name and Philosophy

Città d’Acqua (cittadacqua), our registered kennel name with The Kennel Club, means “City of Water” in Italian. It’s how we lovingly refer to ourselves—reflecting both our heritage (Italian/Swedish/English), location and the deep connection our dogs have with water. When we moved to Watertown, our smallholding in the Devon countryside in the south of England, it felt only natural to choose a name that included a reference to water.

Golden Retrievers have always been part of our lives. They are a breed known for their love of swimming, and here at Watertown, they can often be found retrieving sticks or simply enjoying the small lake on our property—whether it’s a warm summer day or a chilly winter morning.

Our breeding is focused on health, temperament, socialisation, and training—always approached with care, love, and joy. Every puppy we raise is nurtured to be a healthy, well-balanced companion who adheres to the breed standard, but more importantly, grows up to be a beloved member of a family. We are dedicated to ensuring our puppies are physically and emotionally sound, and we take great care in matching each puppy with the right home.

Even after our puppies leave us, we remain available to their new families for support and guidance. Visits are always welcome, and we do our best to be there whenever our help is needed.
